On the road... On the job

I have always worked extremely hard at my career as a shooter; yet my job has always remained fun, exciting, entertaining, rewarding, enlightening, liberating, strengthening, and sometimes frightening and even tragic… Pretty much everything but boring.

Here is a collection of images that a few friends, colleagues, and even some total strangers have taken of me that represents a small slice of what my job, and my life have been like.

 • The worst day of a horrifying year.

Less than a month after the tragic and reckless death of Danny Hammel in Ensenada and the John Swift crash near Ojos Negros that left co-driver Dino Pugeda in a coma in the Baja 500, Mark Fisher and I watch in horror from our ESPN helicopter [above] as the crash unfolded that would [5 seconds later] take the life of our great friend and colleague Mark Gleckl as he stood outside the finish line turn with his television camera on his shoulder.
